At-Tur Verse 9

on the Day the heavens will be shaken violently,

On the Day when the heaven will convulse violently,

Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily

on the Day when the sky sways back and forth

On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking.

On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion.

(It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion,

The day the sky will tremble,

A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking.

On the day when the sky whirls violently,

On that Day the heaven will be convulsed violently;

The day the sky shall reel and rock (in a state of terrific commotion),

A day/time the sky/space agitates/moves from side to side quickly (in) agitation/quick movement from side to side .

A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking.

On the day when the heaven shall heave with awful commotion,

On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking,

There is none to avert it;

On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side

On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving,

On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly

Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily

On the Day when Tamur the heaven Mawr,

on the Day when the skies are convulsed,

On the Day when the heaven sways in agitation.

On the day (yawma is operated by la-wqi`un, `will assuredly take place') when the heaven will heave with a great heaving, [when it will] move and spin,

On the Day when Tamur the heaven Mawr,

Ibn Abbas and Qatadah said;

"Shaking violently."

Also from Ibn Abbas, "Split."

Mujahid said;"Spin violently."

Ad-Dahhak commented on the Ayah, saying,

"The earth will violently spin and move by the command of Allah, and its areas will violently move towards each other."

This was preferred by Ibn Jarir, because of the meaning of the word, Mawra, which denotes meanings of spinning and shaking.

Allah said,

وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
