۞ وَوٰعَدْنَا مُوْسٰى ثَلٰثِيْنَ لَيْلَةً وَّاَتْمَمْنٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيْقَاتُ رَبِّهٖٓ اَرْبَعِيْنَ لَيْلَةً ۚوَقَالَ مُوْسٰى لِاَخِيْهِ هٰرُوْنَ اخْلُفْنِيْ فِيْ قَوْمِيْ وَاَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيْلَ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ( الأعراف: ١٤٢ )
Wa waa'adnaa Moosaa salaaseena lailatanw wa at mamnaahaa bi'ashrim fatamma meeqaatu Rabbihee arba'eena lailah; wa qaala Moosaa liakheehi Haaroonakh lufnee fee qawmee wa aslih wa laa tattabi' sabeelal mufsideen (al-ʾAʿrāf 7:142)
English Sahih:
And We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights and perfected them by [the addition of] ten; so the term of his Lord was completed as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Take my place among my people, do right [by them], and do not follow the way of the corrupters." (Al-A'raf [7] : 142)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
മൂസാക്ക് നാം മുപ്പത് രാവുകള് നിശ്ചയിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. പിന്നീട് പത്തുകൂടി ചേര്ത്ത് അത് പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കി. അങ്ങനെ തന്റെ നാഥന് നിശ്ചയിച്ച നാല്പത് നാള് തികഞ്ഞു. മൂസാ തന്റെ സഹോദരന് ഹാറൂനോട് പറഞ്ഞു: ''എനിക്കു പിറകെ നീ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന് എന്റെ പ്രതിനിധിയാവണം. നല്ല നിലയില് വര്ത്തിക്കണം. കുഴപ്പക്കാരുടെ വഴിയെ പോകരുത്.'' (അല്അഅ്റാഫ് [7] : 142)

മൂസായ്ക്ക് നാം മുപ്പത് രാത്രി നിശ്ചയിച്ച് കൊടുക്കുകയും, പത്ത് കൂടി ചേര്ത്ത് അത് പൂര്ത്തിയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങനെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവ് നിശ്ചയിച്ച നാല്പത് രാത്രിയുടെ സമയപരിധി പൂര്ത്തിയായി. മൂസാ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഹാറൂനോട് പറഞ്ഞു: (ഞാൻ പോയാൽ) എന്റെ ജനതയില് നീ എന്റെ പ്രതിനിധിയായി നിൽക്കുക. നീ നല്ലത് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുകയും, കുഴപ്പക്കാരുടെ മാര്ഗം പിന്തുടരാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.
