Al-'Alaq Verse 10

a servant ˹of Ours˺ from praying?[[ Abu Jahl was a staunch leader of the Meccan opposition to Islam. There are many authentic stories of his abuse of the Prophet (ﷺ). ]]

a slave [of Allah] from praying?

a servant when he prays --

[Our] servant to pray?

A bondman of Ours when he prayeth *

A votary when he (turns) to pray?

a servant (of Allah) when he prays?

A votary when he turns to his devotions?

A bondman when he offers the prayer?

a servant when he prays,

A servant (of God) when he prays?

A servant (of God) when he prays (to His Lord)?

A worshipper/servant/slave when/if he prayed ?

A bondman when he offers the prayer?

A servant when he prays?

A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays?

Seest thou is he is on the right way,

A servant when he prays?

A slave when he prayeth?

a servant of Ours from prayer?

a worshiper when he prays.

A servant when he prays

a worshipper from praying?

A servant when he prays?

a servant, namely, Muhammad (s), when he prays?

Have you seen him who prevents. A servant when he prays?

This was revealed about Abu Jahl, may Allah curse him. He threatened the Prophet for performing Salah at the Ka`bah. Thus, Allah firstly admonished him with that which was better by saying,

أَرَأَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَى
