وَاِذَا فَعَلُوۡا فَاحِشَةً قَالُوۡا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهَاۤ اٰبَآءَنَا وَاللّٰهُ اَمَرَنَا بِهَا ؕ قُلۡ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَاۡمُرُ بِالۡفَحۡشَآءِ ؕ اَتَقُوۡلُوۡنَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ(الأعراف :28)
وَإِذَا
And when
فَعَلُوا۟
they do
فَٰحِشَةً
immorality
قَالُوا۟
they say
وَجَدْنَا
"We found
عَلَيْهَآ
on it
ءَابَآءَنَا
our forefathers
وَٱللَّهُ
and Allah
أَمَرَنَا
(has) ordered us
بِهَاۗ
of it"
قُلْ
Say
إِنَّ
"Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَأْمُرُ
order
بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِۖ
immorality
أَتَقُولُونَ
Do you say
عَلَى
about
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
مَا
what
لَا
not?"
تَعْلَمُونَ
you know?"
Waitha fa'aloo fahishatan qaloo wajadna 'alayha abaana waAllahu amarana biha qul inna Allaha la yamuru bialfahshai ataqooloona 'ala Allahi ma la ta'lamoona
Sahih International:
And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?"
