يٰيَحْيٰى خُذِ الْكِتٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۗوَاٰتَيْنٰهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّاۙ ( مريم: ١٢ )
yāyaḥyā
يَٰيَحْيَىٰ
"O Yahya!
ഹേ, യഹ്യാ
khudhi
خُذِ
Hold
സ്വീകരിക്കുക, എടുക്കുക
l-kitāba
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Scripture
വേദഗ്രന്ഥം
biquwwatin
بِقُوَّةٍۖ
with strength"
ബലമായി, ശക്തിയോടെ
waātaynāhu
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ
And We gave him
അവനു നാം കൊടുത്തു
l-ḥuk'ma
ٱلْحُكْمَ
[the] wisdom
വിജ്ഞാനം, യുക്തി, വിധി
ṣabiyyan
صَبِيًّا
(when he was) a child
ശിശുവായിരിക്കുമ്പോള്
Yaa Yahyaa khuzil Kitaaba biquwwatinw wa aatainaahul hukma saiyyaa (Maryam 19:12)
English Sahih:
[Allah said], "O John, take the Scripture [i.e., adhere to it] with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy (Maryam [19] : 12)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
''ഓ യഹ്യാ, വേദപുസ്തകം കരുത്തോടെ മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കുക.'' കുട്ടിയായിരിക്കെ തന്നെ നാമവന്ന് ജ്ഞാനം നല്കി. (മര്യം [19] : 12)

ഹേ, യഹ്യാ[1] വേദഗ്രന്ഥം ബലമായി സ്വീകരിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക. (എന്ന് നാം പറഞ്ഞു:) കുട്ടിയായിരിക്കെത്തന്നെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് നാം ജ്ഞാനം നല്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
[1] യഹ്യാ നബി(عليه السلام)യെ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികള് വിളിക്കുന്നത് യോഹന്നാന് (സ്നാപകന്) എന്നാണ്.
