Al-Mu'minun Verse 106

They will cry, “Our Lord! Our ill-fate took hold of us, so we became a misguided people.

They will say, “Our Lord, our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we were a people who went astray.

They shall say, 'Our Lord, our adversity prevailed over us; we were an erring people.

They will say, ‘Lord, our waywardness overcame us and we went astray.

They will say: our Lord! our wretchedness overcame, us, and we have been a people erring.

They will say; "our Lord! Our misfortune overwhelmed us, and we became a people astray!

They will say: "Our Lord! Our misfortune prevailed over us. We were indeed an erring people.

They will say: "O Lord, our misery overwhelmed us, so we remained a people astray.

They will say, “Our Lord! Our ill-fate overcame us, and we were the astray people.”

They will say, ‘Our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame us, and we were an astray lot.

They will say: "Our Lord! Our wretchedness (which we ourselves provoked upon ourselves) prevailed over us, and we were people lost in error.

They will say, `Our Lord! our misfortune got the better of us (when we gave ourselves up to evil doings) and we were actually an erring people;

They said: "Our Lord our misery/unhappiness defeated/overcame on us, and we were a misguided nation

They will say, "Our Lord! Our ill-fate overcame us, and we were the astray people."

They will say, "Our Lord our misfortune overcame us, and we became a people astray

They will say: "Our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame us, and we were (an) erring people.

Were not My messages recited to you, but you used to reject them?

They shall say: O our Lord! our adversity overcame us and we were an erring people:

They will say: Our Lord! Our evil fortune conquered us, and we were erring folk.

They will reply, "Lord, our hard-heartedness overcame us and we went astray.

'Lord' they will reply, 'adversity prevailed over us and we were erring.

They will say: "Our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame us, and we were (an) erring people."

They will answer, "Lord, misfortune overcame us and we became an erring people.

They will say, “Our Lord, our wretchedness prevailed over us, and we were a people astray.

They will say, `Our Lord, our wretchedness (shiqwatun; a variant reading has shaqwatun, both of which are verbal nouns with the same meaning) overcame us, and we were an erring folk, [astray] from guidance.

قَالُوا

They will say;

رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَالِّينَ



Our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame us, and we were (an) erring people.

meaning, evidence has been established against us, but we were so doomed that we could not follow it, so we went astray and were not guided.

Then they will say;

رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَالِمُونَ

And there, shall they say: "O Allah, our Creator, our pride and misgivings got the better of our prudence and we were certainly lost in the maze of error
