Ghafir Verse 75

˹They will be told,˺ “This ˹punishment˺ is for being prideful on earth unjustly and for acting arrogantly.

[They will be told], “This is because you used to rejoice on earth wrongfully, and you used to exult [arrogantly].

'That is because you rejoiced in the earth without right, and were exultant.

all because on earth you revelled in untruth and ran wild.

That is because ye had been exulting in the earth without right, and because ye had been strutting.

"That was because ye were wont to rejoice on the earth in things other than the Truth, and that ye were wont to be insolent.

(They will be told): “This is because while you were on earth you took delight in untruth and exulted in it.

"This is so because you went about exulting wrongfully in the land," (will they be told), "and you were insolent.

“This is the recompense of your being happy upon falsehood in the earth, and the recompense of your conceit.”

‘That [punishment] is because you used to boast unduly on the earth and because you used to strut.

"That (His leading you astray and your punishment) is because you arrogantly exulted on the earth without (sense of the bounds of) right, and because you were arbitrary in your exulting.

(It will be said to them,) `That is because you exulted in the land without any justification and because you behaved with vanity.

That (is) because (of) what you were being happy/rejoiceful/delighted in the earth/Planet Earth without the right/truth , and because (of) what you were being lively and joyful .

“This is the recompense of your being happy upon falsehood in the earth, and the recompense of your conceit.”

(It is said,) "That is because you exulted in the earth unjustly and because you behaved insolently."

That was because you had been exulting in the earth without any right (by worshipping others instead of Allah and by committing crimes), and that you used to rejoice extremely (in your error).

Besides Allah? They will say: They have failed us; nay, we used not to call upon anything before. Thus does Allah confound the disbelievers.

That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently.

(And it is said unto them): This is because ye exulted in the earth without right, and because ye were petulant.

They will be told, "This (torment) is the result of your unreasonable happiness on the earth and of your propagation of falsehood.

(And it will be said): 'That is because you rejoiced on earth in things of which you had no right, and were very happy.

That was because you had been exulting in the earth without any right, and that you used to rejoice extremely.

that is because you exulted in the land without justification and because you behaved insolently.

That is because you used to rejoice on earth in other than the truth, and because you used to behave with vanity.

And it will also be said to them; `That, chastisement, is because you used to exult in the earth without right, by [your] idolatry and denial of resurrection, and because you were insolent, committing acts of disobedience in abundance.

That was because you had been exulting in the earth without any right, and that you used to rejoice extremely.

means, the angels will say to them, `what you are suffering now is your recompense for your exulting in the earth without any right, and for your extravagance.'

ادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا فَبِيْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
