وَلَا تَسْتَوِى الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا السَّيِّئَةُ ۗاِدْفَعْ بِالَّتِيْ هِيَ اَحْسَنُ فَاِذَا الَّذِيْ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهٗ عَدَاوَةٌ كَاَنَّهٗ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيْمٌ   ( فصلت: ٣٤ )

And not
tastawī
تَسْتَوِى
are equal
l-ḥasanatu
ٱلْحَسَنَةُ
the good (deed)
walā
وَلَا
and
l-sayi-atu
ٱلسَّيِّئَةُۚ
the evil (deed)
id'faʿ
ٱدْفَعْ
Repel
bi-allatī
بِٱلَّتِى
by (that) which
hiya
هِىَ
[it]
aḥsanu
أَحْسَنُ
(is) better;
fa-idhā
فَإِذَا
then behold!
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
One who
baynaka
بَيْنَكَ
between you
wabaynahu
وَبَيْنَهُۥ
and between him
ʿadāwatun
عَدَٰوَةٌ
(was) enmity
ka-annahu
كَأَنَّهُۥ
as if he
waliyyun
وَلِىٌّ
(was) a friend
ḥamīmun
حَمِيمٌ
intimate

Wa laa tastawil hasanatu wa las saiyi'ah; idfa' billatee hiya ahsanu fa'izal lazee bainaka wa bainahoo 'adaawatun ka'annahoo waliyun hameem (Fuṣṣilat 41:34)

Sahih International:

And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon, the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend. (Fussilat [41] : 34)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

Good and evil are not equal. Repel (evil) with what is best, and you will see that the one you had mutual enmity with him will turn as if he were a close friend.
