At-Tawbah Verse 71

The believers, both men and women, are guardians of one another. They encourage good and forbid evil, establish prayer and pay alms-tax, and obey Allah and His Messenger. It is they who will be shown Allah’s mercy. Surely Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.

The believers, both men and women, are allies of one another; they enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, they establish prayer, give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. It is they who will receive Allah’s mercy, for Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

And the believers, the men and the women, are friends one of the other; they bid to honour, and forbid dishonour; they perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and they obey God and His Messenger. Those -- upon them God will have mercy; God is All-mighty, All-wise.

The believers, both men and women, support each other; they order what is right and forbid what is wrong; they keep up the prayer and pay the prescribed alms; they obey God and His Messenger. God will give His mercy to such people: God is almighty and wise.

And the believing men and believing women are friends one unto anot her: they command that which is reputable and restrain from that which is disreputable, and establish prayer and give the poor-rate and obey Allah and His apostle. Those! Allah will surely show mercy to them; verily Allah is Mighty, Wise.

The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another; they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil; they observe regular prayers, practise regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy; for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise.

The believers, both men and women, are allies of one another. They enjoin good, forbid evil, establish Prayer, pay Zakah, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Surely Allah will show mercy to them. Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Those who believe, men and women, befriend one another, and enjoin what is right and prohibit what is wrong. They observe their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and obey God and His Apostle. God will be merciful to them, for God is all-mighty and all-wise.

And the Muslim men and Muslim women are the friends of one another; enjoining right and forbidding wrong, and keeping the prayer established and paying the obligatory charity, obeying Allah and His Noble Messenger; these are upon whom Allah will soon have mercy; indeed Allah is the Almighty, the Wise.

But the faithful, men and women, are comrades of one another: they bid what is right and forbid what is wrong and maintain the prayer, give the zakat, and obey Allah and His Apostle. It is they to whom Allah will soon grant His mercy. Indeed Allah is all-mighty, all-wise.

The believers, both men and women, they are guardians, confidants, and helpers of one another. They enjoin and promote what is right and good and forbid and try to prevent the evil, and they establish the Prescribed Prayer in conformity with its conditions, and pay the Prescribed Purifying Alms. They obey God and His Messenger. They are the ones whom God will treat with mercy. Surely God is All-Glorious with irresistible might, All-Wise.

And the believing men and women both are friends one of another. They enjoin the right and forbid the wrong and observe Prayer and go on presenting the Zakât and obey Allâh and His Messenger. It is these on whom Allâh will certainly have mercy. Surely, Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

And the believers (M) and believers (F) some of them (are) guardians/allies (to) some, they order/command with the kindness/generosity , and they forbid/prevent from the defiance of God and His orders/obscenity ,and they keep up the prayers, and they give the charity/purification and they obey God and His messenger, those, God will have mercy upon them, that God (is) glorious/mighty , wise/judicious.

And the Muslim men and Muslim women are the friends of one another; enjoining right and forbidding wrong, and keeping the prayer established and paying the obligatory charity, obeying Allah and His Noble Messenger; these are upon whom Allah will soon have mercy; indeed Allah is the Almighty, the Wise.

And the believers, men and women, are patrons one of the others; they bid what is right, and forbid what is wrong, and are steadfast in worship, and give in charity, and they obey Allah and His Messenger. On these will Allah have mercy; verily, Allah is Mighty, Wise!

The believers, men and women, are Auliya' (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); they perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Has not the story reached them of those before them -- of the people of Noah and ‘Ad and Thamud, and the people of Abraham and the dwellers of Midian and the overthrown cities? Their messengers came to them with clear arguments. So Allah wronged them not but they wronged themselves.

And (as for) the believing men and the believing women, they are guardians of each other; they enjoin good and forbid evil and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Apostle; (as for) these, Allah will show mercy to them; surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.

And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have mercy on them. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise.

The believers, both male and female, are each other's guardians. They try to make others do good, prevent them from committing sins, perform their prayers, pay the religious tax, and obey God and His Messenger. God will have mercy on them; He is Majestic and All-wise.

The believers, both men and women, are guides to each other. They order what is just and forbid what is evil; they establish their prayers and pay the obligatory charity and obey Allah and His Messenger. On these Allah will have mercy. He is Mighty, Wise.

The believers, men and women, are supporters of one another; they enjoin good, and forbid evil; they perform the Salah, and give the Zakah, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His mercy on them. Surely, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

The believers, both men and women, are friends to each other; they enjoin what is good and forbid evil, they attend to their prayers and pay the alms and obey God and His Messenger. On these God will have mercy, for God is almighty and wise.

The believing men and believing women are friends of one another. They advocate virtue, forbid evil, perform the prayers, practice charity, and obey God and His Messenger. These—God will have mercy on them. God is Noble and Wise.

And the believers, both men and women, are allies of one another; they enjoin decency and forbid indecency; they observe prayer and pay the alms, and they obey God and His Messenger. Those, God will have mercy on them. Truly God is Mighty, nothing can prevent Him from fulfilling His promise and His threat; Wise, He puts everything in its proper place.

Qualities of Faithful Believers

After Allah mentioned the evil characteristics of the hypocrites, He then mentioned the good qualities of the believers,

وَالْمُوْمِنُونَ وَالْمُوْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاء بَعْضٍ

The believers, men and women, are supporters of one another;

they help and aid each other.

Surely, an authentic Hadith states,

الْمُوْمِنُ لِلْمُوْمِنِ كَالْبُنْيَانِ يَشُدُّ بَعْضُهُ بَعْضًا

The believer to the believer is just like a building, its parts support each other.

and the Prophet crossed his fingers together.

In the Sahih it is recorded,

مَثَلُ الْمُوْمِنِينَ فِي تَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَرَاحُمِهِمْ كَمَثَلِ الْجَسَدِ الْوَاحِدِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى مِنْهُ عُضْوٌ تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَايِرُ الْجَسَدِ بِالْحُمَّى وَالسَّهَر

The example of the believers in the compassion and mercy they have for each other, is the example of one body;if a part of it falls ill, the rest of the body suffers with fever and sleeplessness.

Allah's statement,

يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ
they enjoin good, and forbid evil,

this is similar to,

وَلْتَكُن مِّنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ

Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining Al-Ma`rufand forbidding the Munkar... (3;104)

Allah said next,

وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَةَ وَيُوْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ

they perform the Salah, and give the Zakah,

they obey Allah and are kind to His creation,

وَيُطِيعُونَ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ

and obey Allah and His Messenger,

concerning what he commands and refraining from what he prohibits,

أُوْلَـيِكَ سَيَرْحَمُهُمُ اللّهُ

Allah will have mercy on them.

Therefore, Allah will give mercy to those who have these qualities,

إِنَّ اللّهَ عَزِيزٌ

Surely, Allah is All-Mighty,

He grants glory to those who obey Him, for indeed, might and glory is from Allah Who gives it to His Messenger and the believers,

حَكِيمٌ



All-Wise,

in granting these qualities to the believers, while giving evil characteristics to hypocrites.

Surely, Allah's wisdom is perfect in all His actions; praise and glory be to Him
