Az-Zalzalah Verse 1

When the earth is shaken ˹in˺ its ultimate quaking,

When the earth is shaken with a mighty quake,

When earth is shaken with a mighty shaking

When the earth is shaken violently in its [last] quaking,

When the earth is shaken by the shaking thereof,

When the earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion,

When the earth will be shaken with a mighty shaking,

WHEN THE WORLD is shaken up by its cataclysm,

When the earth is shaken with its appointed tremor.

When the earth is rocked with a terrible quake

When the earth quakes with a violent quaking destined for it,

When the earth is shaken with its violent shaking,

When/if the earth/Planet Earth shook/trembled its shaking/trembling/earthquake

When the earth is shaken with its appointed tremor.

When the earth shall be shaken with its quaking

When the earth is shaken with its (final) earthquake.

And the earth brings forth her burdens,

When the earth is shaken with her (violent) shaking,

When Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake

When the earth is shaken by a terrible quake

When the earth is shaken with its mighty shaking,

When the earth quakes with its Zilzal.

When the earth is shaken with its violent shaking,

When the earth is shaken with its quake.

When earth is shaken, [when] it is rocked for the rising of the Hour, with its [final] quake, with its most violent rocking, one that befits its magnitude,

Ibn `Abbas said,

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الاَْرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا




When the earth quakes with its Zilzal.

This means that it will move from beneath it.

وَأَخْرَجَتِ الاْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا

When the earth, quakes, convulses and is violently shaken
