Yusuf Ayah 38

وَاتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ اٰبَاۤءِيْٓ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَۗ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ اَنْ نُّشْرِكَ بِاللّٰهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍۗ ذٰلِكَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى النَّاسِ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُوْنَ  ( يوسف: ٣٨ )

wa-ittabaʿtu
وَٱتَّبَعْتُ
And I follow
Et j’ai suivi
millata
مِلَّةَ
(the) religion
(la) religion
ābāī
ءَابَآءِىٓ
(of) my forefathers
(de) mes ancêtres :
ib'rāhīma
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
Abraham
wa-is'ḥāqa
وَإِسْحَٰقَ
and Ishaq
et Isaac
wayaʿqūba
وَيَعْقُوبَۚ
and Yaqub
et Jacob.
mā
مَا
Not
N’
kāna
كَانَ
was
est (pas)
lanā
لَنَآ
for us
(convenable) pour nous
an
أَن
that
que
nush'rika
نُّشْرِكَ
we associate
nous associons
bil-lahi
بِٱللَّهِ
with Allah
à Allâh
min
مِن
any

shayin
شَىْءٍۚ
thing
chose.
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
That
Cela (fait partie)
min
مِن
(is) from
de
faḍli
فَضْلِ
(the) Grace
(la) faveur
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
(d’)Allâh
ʿalaynā
عَلَيْنَا
upon us
sur nous
waʿalā
وَعَلَى
and upon
et sur
l-nāsi
ٱلنَّاسِ
the mankind
les gens
walākinna
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
mais
akthara
أَكْثَرَ
most
(la) plupart
l-nāsi
ٱلنَّاسِ
(of) the men
(des) gens
lā
لَا
(are) not
ne
yashkurūna
يَشْكُرُونَ
grateful
sont (pas) reconnaissants.

Wattab'tu millata aabaaa'eee Ibraaheema wa Ishaaqa wa Ya'qoob; maa kaana lanaaa an nushrika billaahi min shai' zaalikamin fadlil laahi 'alainaa wa 'alan naasi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yashkuroon (Yūsuf 12:38)

English Sahih:

And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And it was not for us to associate anything with Allah. That is from the favor of Allah upon us and upon the people, but most of the people are not grateful. (Yusuf [12] : 38)

Muhammad Hamidullah:

Et j'ai suivi la religion de mes ancêtres, Abraham, Isaac et Jacob. Il ne nous convient pas d'associer à Allah quoi que ce soit. Ceci est une grâce d'Allah sur nous et sur tout le monde; mais la plupart des gens ne sont pas reconnaissants. (Yusuf [12] : 38)

Ensuite, j’ai embrassé la religion de mes ancêtres: Abraham, Isaac et Jacob. Cette religion proclame l’Unicité d’Allah et proscrit de Lui associer quoi que ce soit, Lui attribuant l’Unicité exclusive. Ce monothéisme et cette foi auxquels moi et mes ancêtres sommes fidèles est une grâce que nous a accordée Allah en nous facilitant d’y souscrire. C’est également une grâce qu’Il accorde à tous les gens lorsqu’Il leur envoie des prophètes prêcher cette foi et ce monothéisme. Seulement, la plupart des gens ne sont pas reconnaissants envers Allah pour les bienfaits qu’Il leur octroie mais les renient.
