فَعَسٰى رَبِّيْٓ اَنْ يُّؤْتِيَنِ خَيْرًا مِّنْ جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهَا حُسْبَانًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيْدًا زَلَقًاۙ ( الكهف: ٤٠ )
faʿasā
فَعَسَىٰ
It may be
Il se peut donc

that my Lord

وَيُرْسِلَ
and will send
et envoie
ʿalayhā
عَلَيْهَا
upon it
contre lui
ḥus'bānan
حُسْبَانًا
a calamity
une catastrophe
mina
مِّنَ
from
du
l-samāi
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
[le] ciel
fatuṣ'biḥa
فَتُصْبِحَ
then it will become
et il deviendra ensuite
ṣaʿīdan
صَعِيدًا
ground
de la terre
zalaqan
زَلَقًا
slippery
glissante
Fa'asaa Rabeee any yu'tiyani khairam min jannatika wa yursila 'alaihaa husbaanam minas samaaa'i fatusbiha sa'eedan zalaqaa (al-Kahf 18:40)
English Sahih:
It may be that my Lord will give me [something] better than your garden and will send upon it a [disastrous] penalty from the sky, and it will become a smooth, dusty ground, (Al-Kahf [18] : 40)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
il se peut que mon Seigneur, bientôt, me donne quelque chose de meilleur que ton jardin, qu'Il envoie sur [ce dernier], du ciel, quelque calamité, et que son sol devienne glissant, (Al-Kahf [18] : 40)
