لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَفْرَحُوْنَ بِمَآ اَتَوْا وَّيُحِبُّوْنَ اَنْ يُّحْمَدُوْا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوْا فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُمْ بِمَفَازَةٍ مِّنَ الْعَذَابِۚ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ( آل عمران: ١٨٨ )
Laa tahsabannal lazeena yafrahoona bimaaa ataw wa yuhibbona ai yuhmadoo bimaa lam yaf'aloo falaa tahsabunnahum bimafaazatim minal 'azaabi wa lahum 'azaabun aleem (ʾĀl ʿImrān 3:188)
English Sahih:
And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not do – never think them [to be] in safety from the punishment, and for them is a painful punishment. (Ali 'Imran [3] : 188)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Ne pense point que ceux-là qui exultent de ce qu'ils ont fait, et qui aiment qu'on les loue pour ce qu'ils n'ont pas fait, ne pense point donc, qu'ils trouvent une échappatoire au châtiment. Pour eux, il y aura un châtiment douloureux! (Ali-'Imran [3] : 188)

Ô Prophète, ne crois pas que ceux qui se réjouissent de leurs agissements exécrables et aiment que les gens fassent leur éloge pour des bonnes actions qu’ils n’avaient pas accomplies, ne crois pas que ces gens échapperont au châtiment. Au contraire, leur place est en Enfer et ils y subiront un châtiment douloureux.
