فَنَادَتْهُ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ وَهُوَ قَاۤىِٕمٌ يُّصَلِّيْ فِى الْمِحْرَابِۙ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيٰى مُصَدِّقًاۢ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَّحَصُوْرًا وَّنَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ( آل عمران: ٣٩ )
Fanadathu almalaikatu wahuwa qaimun yusallee fee almihrabi anna Allaha yubashshiruka biyahya musaddiqan bikalimatin mina Allahi wasayyidan wahasooran wanabiyyan mina alssaliheena (ʾĀl ʿImrān 3:39)

तो फ़रिश्तों ने उसे आवाज़ दी, जबकि वह मेहराब में खड़ा नमाज़ पढ़ रहा था, 'अल्लाह, तुझे यह्याि की शुभ-सूचना देता है, जो अल्लाह के एक कलिमें की पुष्टि करनेवाला, सरदार, अत्यन्त संयमी और अच्छे लोगो में से एक नबी होगा।'
English Sahih:
So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous." ([3] Ali 'Imran : 39)

अभी ज़करिया हुजरे में खड़े (ये) दुआ कर ही रहे थे कि फ़रिश्तों ने उनको आवाज़ दी कि ख़ुदा तुमको यहया (के पैदा होने) की खुशख़बरी देता है जो जो कलेमतुल्लाह (ईसा) की तस्दीक़ करेगा और (लोगों का) सरदार होगा और औरतों की तरफ़ रग़बत न करेगा और नेको कार नबी होगा
