مَاكَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ لَهٗٓ اَسْرٰى حَتّٰى يُثْخِنَ فِى الْاَرْضِۗ تُرِيْدُوْنَ عَرَضَ الدُّنْيَاۖ وَاللّٰهُ يُرِيْدُ الْاٰخِرَةَۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَزِيْزٌحَكِيْمٌ ( الأنفال: ٦٧ )
Ma kana linabiyyin an yakoona lahu asra hatta yuthkhina fee alardi tureedoona 'arada alddunya waAllahu yureedu alakhirata waAllahu 'azeezun hakeemun (al-ʾAnfāl 8:67)

किसी नबी के लिए यह उचित नहीं कि उसके पास क़ैदी हो यहाँ तक की वह धरती में रक्तपात करे। तुम लोग संसार की सामग्री चाहते हो, जबकि अल्लाह आख़िरत चाहता है। अल्लाह अत्यन्त प्रभुत्वशाली, तत्वदर्शी है
English Sahih:
It is not for a prophet to have captives [of war] until he inflicts a massacre [upon Allah's enemies] in the land. You [i.e., some Muslims] desire the commodities of this world, but Allah desires [for you] the Hereafter. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. ([8] Al-Anfal : 67)
