قَالَ رَبِّ السِّجْنُ اَحَبُّ اِلَيَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُوْنَنِيْٓ اِلَيْهِ ۚوَاِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّيْ كَيْدَهُنَّ اَصْبُ اِلَيْهِنَّ وَاَكُنْ مِّنَ الْجٰهِلِيْنَ ( يوسف: ٣٣ )
Qaala rabbis sijnu ahabbu ilaiya mimma yad'oo naneee 'ilaihi wa illaa tasrif 'annee kaidahunna asbu ilaihinna wa akum minal jaahileen (Yūsuf 12:33)
English Sahih:
He said, "My Lord, prison is more to my liking than that to which they invite me. And if You do not avert from me their plan, I might incline toward them and [thus] be of the ignorant." (Yusuf [12] : 33)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
യൂസുഫ് പറഞ്ഞു: ''എന്റെ നാഥാ, ഇവരെന്നെ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത് ഏതൊന്നിലേക്കാണോ അതിനേക്കാള് എനിക്കിഷ്ടം തടവറയാണ്. ഇവരുടെ കുതന്ത്രം നീയെന്നില് നിന്ന് തട്ടിമാറ്റുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് ഞാന് അവരുടെ കെണിയില് കുടുങ്ങി അവിവേകികളില്പ്പെട്ടവനായേക്കാം.'' (യൂസുഫ് [12] : 33)

അദ്ദേഹം (യൂസുഫ്) പറഞ്ഞു: 'എന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവേ, ഇവര് എന്നെ ഏതൊന്നിലേക്ക് ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നുവോ അതിനെക്കാളും എനിക്ക് കൂടുതല് പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടത് ജയിലാകുന്നു. ഇവരുടെ കുതന്ത്രം എന്നെ വിട്ട് നീ തിരിച്ചുകളയാത്തപക്ഷം ഞാന് അവരിലേക്ക് ചാഞ്ഞുപോയേക്കും. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് അവിവേകികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ആയിപ്പോകുകയും ചെയ്യും.'
