فَعَسٰى رَبِّيْٓ اَنْ يُّؤْتِيَنِ خَيْرًا مِّنْ جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهَا حُسْبَانًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيْدًا زَلَقًاۙ ( الكهف: ٤٠ )
faʿasā
فَعَسَىٰ
It may be
എന്നാല്‍ ആകുവാനും മതി, ആയേക്കാം
rabbī
رَبِّىٓ
that my Lord
എന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവ്
an yu'tiyani
أَن يُؤْتِيَنِ
that my Lord will give me
എനിക്കു നല്‍കുവാന്‍
khayran
خَيْرًا
better
ഏറ്റവും നല്ലതു, ഉത്തമം
min jannatika
مِّن جَنَّتِكَ
than your garden
നിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തെക്കാള്‍
wayur'sila
وَيُرْسِلَ
and will send
അയക്കുകയും
ʿalayhā
عَلَيْهَا
upon it
അതിന്‍മേല്‍
ḥus'bānan
حُسْبَانًا
a calamity
ഇടിവാള്‍, ഇടയമ്പു, മഴ, ഇടിമിന്നല്‍, മിന്നല്‍പിണര്‍
mina l-samāi
مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ
from the sky
ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു
fatuṣ'biḥa
فَتُصْبِحَ
then it will become
അങ്ങനെ അതായിത്തീരും (തീരുക)
ṣaʿīdan
صَعِيدًا
ground
മണ്‍പ്രദേശം
zalaqan
زَلَقًا
slippery
വഴുതുന്ന (ചെളിമയമായ)
Fa'asaa Rabeee any yu'tiyani khairam min jannatika wa yursila 'alaihaa husbaanam minas samaaa'i fatusbiha sa'eedan zalaqaa (al-Kahf 18:40)
English Sahih:
It may be that my Lord will give me [something] better than your garden and will send upon it a [disastrous] penalty from the sky, and it will become a smooth, dusty ground, (Al-Kahf [18] : 40)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
''എന്റെ നാഥന്‍ എനിക്ക് നിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തെക്കാള്‍ നല്ലത് നല്‍കിയേക്കാം. നിന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിന്റെ നേരെ അവന്‍ മാനത്തുനിന്നു വല്ല വിപത്തുമയച്ചേക്കാം. അങ്ങനെ അത് തരിശായ ചതുപ്പുനിലമായേക്കാം. (അല്‍കഹ്ഫ് [18] : 40)
