اَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ اَلَّا يَرْجِعُ اِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلًا ەۙ وَّلَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرًّا وَّلَا نَفْعًا ࣖ ( طه: ٨٩ )

أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ
Then did not they see
എന്നാലവര് കാണുന്നില്ലേ
allā yarjiʿu
أَلَّا يَرْجِعُ
that not it (could) return
അതു മടക്കുന്നില്ല (മറുപടി പറയുന്നില്ല) എന്നു
ilayhim
إِلَيْهِمْ
to them
അവരോടു, അവരിലേക്കു
qawlan
قَوْلًا
a word
വാക്കു, ഒരുവാക്കും
walā yamliku
وَلَا يَمْلِكُ
and not possess
അതു സ്വാധീനമാകുന്നുമില്ല, അതിനു സാധിക്കുന്നുമില്ല
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
അവര്ക്കു
ḍarran
ضَرًّا
any harm
ഒരു ഉപദ്രവത്തിനും
walā nafʿan
وَلَا نَفْعًا
and not any benefit?
ഒരു ഉപകാരത്തിനും തന്നെ (സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല)
Afalaa yarawna allaa yarji'u ilaihim qawlanw wa laa yamliku lahum darranw wa laa naf'aa (Ṭāʾ Hāʾ 20:89)
English Sahih:
Did they not see that it could not return to them any speech [i.e., response] and that it did not possess for them any harm or benefit? (Taha [20] : 89)

എന്നാല് ആ കാളക്കിടാവ് ഒരു മറുവാക്കുപോലും ശബ്ദിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്നും അവര്ക്കൊരുവിധ ഉപദ്രവമോ ഉപകാരമോ ചെയ്യാനതിനു കഴിയില്ലെന്നും അവര്ക്കെന്തുകൊണ്ട് കാണാന് കഴിയുന്നില്ല? (ത്വാഹാ [20] : 89)
