قَالُوْا سُبْحٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنْۢبَغِيْ لَنَآ اَنْ نَّتَّخِذَ مِنْ دُوْنِكَ مِنْ اَوْلِيَاۤءَ وَلٰكِنْ مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ وَاٰبَاۤءَهُمْ حَتّٰى نَسُوا الذِّكْرَۚ وَكَانُوْا قَوْمًاۢ بُوْرًا ( الفرقان: ١٨ )
Qaaloo Subhaanaka maa kaana yambaghee lanaaa an nattakhiza min doonika min awliyaaa'a wa laakim matta'tahum wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa nasuz zikra wa kaanoo qawmam booraa (al-Furq̈ān 25:18)
English Sahih:
They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies [i.e., protectors]. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined." (Al-Furqan [25] : 18)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അവര് പറയും: ''നീയെത്ര പരിശുദ്ധന്! നിന്നെവിട്ട് ഏതെങ്കിലും രക്ഷാധികാരികളെ സ്വീകരിക്കുകയെന്നത് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു ചേര്ന്നതല്ല. എന്നാല് നീ അവര്ക്കും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കള്ക്കും ജീവിതസുഖം നല്കി. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഈ ഉദ്ബോധനം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. അതുവഴി അവരൊരു നശിച്ച ജനതയായി.'' (അല്ഫുര്ഖാന് [25] : 18)

അവര് (ആരാധ്യര്) പറയും: നീ എത്ര പരിശുദ്ധന്! നിനക്ക് പുറമെ വല്ല രക്ഷാധികാരികളെയും സ്വീകരിക്കുക എന്നത് ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് യോജിച്ചതല്ല. പക്ഷെ, അവര്ക്കും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കള്ക്കും നീ സൗഖ്യം നല്കി. അങ്ങനെ അവര് ഉല്ബോധനം മറന്നുകളയുകയും, നശിച്ച ഒരു ജനതയായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്തു.
