لَقَدْ اَخَذْنَا مِيْثَاقَ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ وَاَرْسَلْنَآ اِلَيْهِمْ رُسُلًا ۗ كُلَّمَا جَاۤءَهُمْ رَسُوْلٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوٰٓى اَنْفُسُهُمْۙ فَرِيْقًا كَذَّبُوْا وَفَرِيْقًا يَّقْتُلُوْنَ ( المائدة: ٧٠ )
Laqad akhaznaa meesaaqa Banee Israaa'eela wa arsalnaaa ilaihim Rusulan kullamaa jaaa'ahum Rasoolum bimaa laa tahwaaa anfusuhum fareeqan kazzaboo wa fareeqany yaqtuloon (al-Māʾidah 5:70)
English Sahih:
We had already taken the covenant of the Children of Israel and had sent to them messengers. Whenever there came to them a messenger with what their souls did not desire, a party [of messengers] they denied, and another party they killed. (Al-Ma'idah [5] : 70)

ഇസ്രയേല് മക്കളോട് നാം കരാര് വാങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവരിലേക്ക് നാം ദൂതന്മാരെ നിയോഗിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്നാല് ഓരോ ദൈവദൂതനും അവരുടെ മനസ്സിനിണങ്ങാത്ത സന്ദേശങ്ങളുമായി അവരുടെ അടുത്ത് ചെന്നപ്പോഴൊക്കെ അവര് ആ ദൈവദൂതന്മാരില് ചിലരെ തള്ളിപ്പറയുകയും മറ്റുചിലരെ കൊല്ലുകയുമാണുണ്ടാത്. (അല്മാഇദ [5] : 70)

ഇസ്രായീല് സന്തതികളോട് നാം കരാര് വാങ്ങുകയും, അവരിലേക്ക് നാം ദൂതന്മാരെ അയക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവരുടെ ദേഹേച്ഛക്ക് പിടിക്കാത്ത കാര്യങ്ങളുമായി അവരുടെ അടുത്ത് ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊരു ദൂതന് ചെന്നപ്പോളൊക്കെ ദൂതന്മാരില് ഒരു വിഭാഗത്തെ അവര് നിഷേധിച്ച് തള്ളി. മറ്റൊരു വിഭാഗത്തെ അവര് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
