وَاِذْ قَالَتْ اُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُوْنَ قَوْمًاۙ ۨاللّٰهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ اَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيْدًاۗ قَالُوْا مَعْذِرَةً اِلٰى رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُوْنَ ( الأعراف: ١٦٤ )

وَإِذْ

(whom) Allah

مُهْلِكُهُمْ
(is going to) destroy them
他们的|毁灭
aw
أَوْ
or
或者
muʿadhibuhum
مُعَذِّبُهُمْ
punish them
他们的|惩罚
ʿadhāban
عَذَابًا
(with) a punishment
刑罚
shadīdan
شَدِيدًاۖ
severe?"
厉害的
qālū
قَالُوا۟
They said

maʿdhiratan
مَعْذِرَةً
"To be absolved
原谅
ilā
إِلَىٰ

rabbikum
رَبِّكُمْ
your Lord
你们的|养主
walaʿallahum
وَلَعَلَّهُمْ
and that they may
他们|以便|和
yattaqūna
يَتَّقُونَ
become righteous"
他们敬畏
Wa iz qaalat ummatum minhum lima ta'izoona qaw manil laahu muhlikuhum aw mu'azzibuhum 'azaaban shadeedan qaaloo ma'ziratan ilaa Rabbikum wa la'allahum tattaqoon (al-ʾAʿrāf 7:164)
English Sahih:
And when a community among them said, "Why do you advise [or warn] a people whom Allah is [about] to destroy or to punish with a severe punishment?" they [the advisors] said, "To be absolved before your Lord and perhaps they may fear Him." (Al-A'raf [7] : 164)
Ma Jian (Simplified):
当时，他们中有一伙人说：“安拉要加以毁灭，或加以严惩的民众，你们何必劝戒他们呢？”他们说：“因为求得你们的主的原谅，而且希望他们能敬畏。” (高处 [7] : 164)
