Al-Hijr Verse 52

who entered upon him and greeted ˹him with˺, “Peace!” He ˹later˺ said, “Surely we are afraid of you.”[[ As mentioned in {11:69}-70, the angels came to Abraham in the form of men and when he offered them food, they did not eat. In ancient Middle Eastern culture, if a guest refused to eat the food provided by their host, it was a sign of ill-will.]]

When they entered upon him and said, “Peace!” He said, “We are afraid of you.”

when they entered unto him, saying, 'Peace!' He said, 'Behold, we are afraid of you.'

when they came to him and said, ‘Peace,’ he said, ‘We are afraid of you.’

When they entered unto him, and said; peace! He said: verily we are afraid of you.

When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!"

When they came to Abraham they said: "Peace be upon you!" He replied: "Indeed we feel afraid of you."

When they came to him and said: "Peace," he answered: "Truly we are afraid of you."

When the angels came to him and said, “Peace"; he said, “We feel afraid of you.”

when they entered into his presence and said, ‘Peace!’ He said, ‘We are indeed afraid of you.’

They presented themselves before him and bade him peace. Abraham said: "We are apprehensive of you."

When they entered upon him and greeted him saying, `Peace (be upon you)´ he answered, `We feel afraid of you.´

When/if they entered on (to) him, so they said: "Greeting/peace ." He said: "That we are afraid/apprehensive from you."

When the angels came to him and said, "Peace"; he said, "We feel afraid of you."

When they came unto him and said, "Peace!", he said, "Verily, we are afraid of you."

When they entered unto him, and said: Salaman (peace)! [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Indeed! We are afraid of you."

And inform them of the guests of Abraham.

When they entered upon him, they said, Peace. He said: Surely we are afraid of you.

(How) when they came in unto him, and said: Peace. He said: Lo! we are afraid of you.

who came to him saying, "Peace be with you." Abraham said, "We are afraid of you".

They entered to him and said: 'Peace' but he replied: 'We are afraid of you'

When they entered upon him, and said: "Salaman (peace!)." He said: "Indeed we are frightened of you."

when they came to him they greeted him with: "Peace." He said,"We feel afraid of you."

When they entered upon him, and said, “Peace.” He said, “We are wary of you.”

[how] when they entered unto him, and said, `Peace!', that is, [they said] this very word (salm). He, Abraham, said, after having offered them food which they did not eat; `Lo! we are afraid of you'.

He said;"Indeed we are frightened of you."

meaning that they were scared. The reason for their fear has been mentioned previously, which is that they noticed that these guests did not eat of the food that was offered, which was a fattened calf.
