Maryam Verse 19

He responded, “I am only a messenger from your Lord, ˹sent˺ to bless you with a pure son.”

He said, “I am only a messenger from your Lord to grant you a righteous son.”

If thou fearest God... He said, 'I am but a messenger come from thy Lord, to give thee a boy most pure.

but he said, ‘I am but a Mes-senger from your Lord, [come] to announce to you the gift of a pure son.’

He said: I am but a meenger from thy Lord that I may bestow on thee a boy pure.

He said; "Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son.

He said: "I am just a message-bearer of your Lord, I have come to grant you a most pure boy."

He replied: "I am only a messenger from your Lord (sent) to bestow a good son on you."

He said, “I am indeed one sent by your Lord; so that I may give you a chaste son.”

He said, ‘I am only a messenger of your Lord that I may give you a pure son.’

He replied: "I am only a messenger of your Lord to be a means (for God’s gift) to you of a pure son."

He said, `I am but a messenger of your Lord. I give you (glad tidings of) a most pure son.´

He said: "Truly I am your Lord`s messenger to grant/present for you a pure/righteous boy ."

He said, "I am indeed one sent by your Lord; so that I may give you a chaste son."

Said she, "Verily, I take refuge in the Merciful One from you, if you are god-fearing."

(The angel) said: "I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."

She said: I flee for refuge from thee to the Beneficent, if thou art one guarding against evil.

He said: I am only a messenger of your Lord: That I will give you a pure boy.

He said: I am only a messenger of thy Lord, that I may bestow on thee a faultless son.

He said, "I am the Messengers of your Lord. I have come to give you a purified son".

'I am the Messenger of your Lord' he replied, 'and have come to give you a pure boy'

(The angel) said: "I am only a messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son."

"I am only the messenger of your Lord," he replied. "I shall bestow upon you the gift of a son endowed with purity."

He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.”

He said, `I am only a messenger of your Lord, that I may give you a boy [who shall be] pure', in [his] prophethood.

قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ

He said;"I am only a messenger from your Lord..."

This means that the angel said to her in response, and in order to remove the fear that she felt within herself, "I am not what you think, but I am the messenger of your Lord." By this he meant, "Allah has sent me to you."

It is said that when she mentioned the (Name of the) Most Beneficent (Ar-Rahman), Jibril fell apart and returned to his true form (as an angel). He responded,

إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لاَِهَبَ لَكِ غُلَمًا زَكِيًّا



`I am only a messenger from your Lord, to provide to you the gift of a righteous son.
