Ash-Shu'ara Verse 22

How can that be a ‘favour,’ of which you remind me, when ˹it was only because˺ you ˹have˺ enslaved the Children of Israel?”

Is this a favor that you remind me with, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?

That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.'

And is this- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel- the favour with which you reproach me?’

And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il?

"And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!"

Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!"

But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel."

“And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?”

That you have enslaved the Children of Israel—is that the favour with which you reproach me?’

"As for that favor you taunt me with: (it is owed to the fact) that you have enslaved the Children of Israel."

`And this insignificant favour (of your bringing me up) that you (so tauntingly) remind me of (can be no reasonable excuse) for you have enslaved (the whole community of) the Children of Israel (for no fault of theirs).´

And that is a blessing/goodness you brag/remind me repetitiously of , that you enslaved Israel`s sons and daughters.

“And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?”

"And I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord granted me better judgment, and made me one of His messengers;

"And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel."

So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me judgment and made me of the messengers.

And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel?

And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel.

And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves.

Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers'

"And this is the past favor with which you reproach me, -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel."

And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"

Is that the favor you taunt me with, although you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”

That is a favour with which you now reproach me that you have enslaved the Children of Israel' (an `abbadta ban Isr'l, is explicative of tilka, `that') in other words, you have enslaved them but not me; there is no favour in that, for your enslavement of them is wrong (some [scholars] have reckoned there to be an interrogative hamza of denial at the beginning of this verse [a-tilka ni`matun, `is that a favour?']).

And this is the past favor with which you reproach me, -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel.

meaning, `whatever favors you did in bringing me up are offset by the evil you did by enslaving the Children of Israel and using them to do your hard labor. Is there any comparison between your favors to one man among them and the evil you have done to all of them What you have mentioned about me is nothing compared to what you have done to them.
