قَالَتْ اِنَّ الْمُلُوْكَ اِذَا دَخَلُوْا قَرْيَةً اَفْسَدُوْهَا وَجَعَلُوْٓا اَعِزَّةَ اَهْلِهَآ اَذِلَّةً ۚوَكَذٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُوْنَ   ( النمل: ٣٤ )

قَالَتْ
She said
inna
إِنَّ
"Indeed
l-mulūka
ٱلْمُلُوكَ
the kings
idhā
إِذَا
when
dakhalū
دَخَلُوا۟
they enter
qaryatan
قَرْيَةً
a town
afsadūhā
أَفْسَدُوهَا
they ruin it
wajaʿalū
وَجَعَلُوٓا۟
and make
aʿizzata
أَعِزَّةَ
(the) most honorable
ahlihā
أَهْلِهَآ
(of) its people
adhillatan
أَذِلَّةًۖ
(the) lowest
wakadhālika
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
And thus
yafʿalūna
يَفْعَلُونَ
they do

Qaalat innal mulooka izaa dakhaloo qaryatan afsadoohaa wa ja'alooo a'izzata ahlihaaa azillah; wa kazaalika yaf'aloon (an-Naml 27:34)

Sahih International:

She said, "Indeed kings – when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do. (An-Naml [27] : 34)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

She said, “In fact when the kings enter a town, they put it to disorder, and put its honorable citizens to disgrace, and this is how they normally do.
