بَلْ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ اٰبَاۤءَنَا عَلٰٓى اُمَّةٍ وَّاِنَّا عَلٰٓى اٰثٰرِهِمْ مُّهْتَدُوْنَ ( الزخرف: ٢٢ )

Nay
qālū
قَالُوٓا۟
they say
innā
إِنَّا
"Indeed we
wajadnā
وَجَدْنَآ
[we] found
ābāanā
ءَابَآءَنَا
our forefathers
ʿalā
عَلَىٰٓ
upon
ummatin
أُمَّةٍ
a religion
wa-innā
وَإِنَّا
and indeed we
ʿalā
عَلَىٰٓ
on
āthārihim
ءَاثَٰرِهِم
their footsteps
muh'tadūna
مُّهْتَدُونَ
(are) guided"
Bal qaalooo innaa wajadnaaa aabaaa'anaa 'alaaa ummatinw wa innaa 'alaaa aasaarihim muhtadoon (az-Zukhruf 43:22)
Sahih International:
Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided." (Az-Zukhruf [43] : 22)
