Haa-Meeem

Ha, Meem.

Tafsir

وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ
By the Book
ٱلْمُبِينِ
the clear

Wal Kitaabil Mubeen

By the clear Book,

Tafsir

إِنَّا
Indeed We
جَعَلْنَٰهُ
have made it
قُرْءَٰنًا
a Quran
عَرَبِيًّا
(in) Arabic
لَّعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَعْقِلُونَ
understand

Innaa ja'alnaahu Quraanan 'Arabiyyal la'allakum ta'qiloon

Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Quran that you might understand.

Tafsir

وَإِنَّهُۥ
And indeed it
فِىٓ
(is) in
أُمِّ
(the) Mother
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
(of) the Book
لَدَيْنَا
with Us
لَعَلِىٌّ
surely exalted
حَكِيمٌ
full of wisdom

Wa innahoo feee Ummil Kitaabi Ladainaa la'aliyyun hakeem

And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom.

Tafsir

أَفَنَضْرِبُ
Then should We take away
عَنكُمُ
from you
ٱلذِّكْرَ
the Reminder
صَفْحًا
disregarding (you)
أَن
because
كُنتُمْ
you
قَوْمًا
(are) a people
مُّسْرِفِينَ
transgressing?

Afanadribu 'ankumuz Zikra safhan an kuntum qawmam musrifeen

Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people?

Tafsir

وَكَمْ
And how many
أَرْسَلْنَا
We sent
مِن
of
نَّبِىٍّ
a Prophet
فِى
among
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
the former (people)

Wa kam arsalnaa min Nabiyyin fil awwaleen

And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples,

Tafsir

وَمَا
And not
يَأْتِيهِم
came to them
مِّن
any
نَّبِىٍّ
Prophet
إِلَّا
but
كَانُوا۟
they used (to)
بِهِۦ
mock at him
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
mock at him

Wa maa yaateehim min Nabiyyin illaa kaanoo bihee yasahzi'oon

But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him.

Tafsir

فَأَهْلَكْنَآ
Then We destroyed
أَشَدَّ
stronger
مِنْهُم
than them
بَطْشًا
(in) power
وَمَضَىٰ
and has passed
مَثَلُ
(the) example
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
(of) the former (people)

Fa ahlaknaaa ashadda minhum batshanw wa madaa masalul lawwaleen

And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded.

Tafsir

وَلَئِن
And if
سَأَلْتَهُم
you ask them
مَّنْ
"Who
خَلَقَ
created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
and the earth?"
لَيَقُولُنَّ
They will surely say
خَلَقَهُنَّ
"Has created them
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the All-Mighty
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
the All-Knower"

Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqas samaawaati wal arda la yaqoolunna khalaqa hunnal 'Azeezul 'Aleem

And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing,"

Tafsir

ٱلَّذِى
The One Who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the earth
مَهْدًا
a bed
وَجَعَلَ
and made
لَكُمْ
for you
فِيهَا
therein
سُبُلًا
roads
لَّعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تَهْتَدُونَ
be guided

Allazee ja'ala lakumul arda mahdanw wa ja'ala lakum feehaa subulal la'allakum tahtadoon

[The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided
