يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَآ اَحَلَّ اللّٰهُ لَكَۚ تَبْتَغِيْ مَرْضَاتَ اَزْوَاجِكَۗ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ   ( التحريم: ١ )

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O!

ٱلنَّبِىُّ
Prophet!

لِمَ
Why (do)
tuḥarrimu
تُحَرِّمُ
you prohibit
مَآ
what
aḥalla
أَحَلَّ
has made lawful
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
laka
لَكَۖ
for you
tabtaghī
تَبْتَغِى
seeking
marḍāta
مَرْضَاتَ
(to) please
azwājika
أَزْوَٰجِكَۚ
your wives?
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
ghafūrun
غَفُورٌ
(is) Oft-Forgiving
raḥīmun
رَّحِيمٌ
Most Merciful

Yaaa ayyuhan nabiyyu lima tuharrimu maaa ahallal laahu laka tabtaghee mardaata azwaajik; wallaahu ghafoorur raheem (at-Taḥrīm 66:1)

Sahih International:

O Prophet, why do you prohibit [yourself from] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (At-Tahrim [66] : 1)

O Prophet, why do you ban (on your self) something that Allah has made lawful for you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.
