Al-Ghashiyah Verse 23

But whoever turns away, persisting in disbelief,

But whoever turns away and disbelieves,

But he who turns his back, and disbelieves,

As for those who turn away and disbelieve,

But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve -

But if any turn away and reject Allah,-

But whoever will turn away (from the Truth),

Other than him who turns his back and denies,

Except whoever turns away and disbelieves –

except him who turns back and disbelieves.

But whoever turns away (averse to reminder and exhortation), and disbelieves (in what is conveyed to him),

But as to him who turns away and disbelieves,

Except who turned away and disbelieved.

Except whoever turns away and disbelieves -

But such as turns his back and disbelieves,

Save the one who turns away and disbelieves

Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement.

But whoever turns back and disbelieves,

But whoso is averse and disbelieveth,

However, those who turn away and disbelieve,

As for those who turn their back and disbelieve,

Save the one who turns away and disbelieves.

But whoever turns back and denies the truth,

But whoever turns away and disbelieves.

But he who turns away, [he who] rejects faith, and disbelieves, in the Qur'n,

Save the one who turns away and disbelieves.

meaning, he turns away from acting upon its pillars, and he disbelieves in the truth with his heart and his tongue.

This is similar to Allah's statement,

فَلَ صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّى

وَلَـكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى

So he neither believed nor prayed! But on the contrary, he belied and turn away! (75;31-32)

Thus, Allah says,

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الاَْكْبَرَ
