يٰبُنَيَّ اَقِمِ الصَّلٰوةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَآ اَصَابَكَۗ اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْاُمُوْرِ ( لقمان: ١٧ )
Yaa bunaiya aqimis-Salaata waamur bilma'roofi wanha 'anil munkari wasbir 'alaa maaa asaabaka inna zaalika min 'azmil umoor (Luq̈mān 31:17)
English Sahih:
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] resolve. (Luqman [31] : 17)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
O mon enfant accomplis la Salât, commande le convenable, interdis le blâmable et endure ce qui t'arrive avec patience. Telle est la résolution à prendre dans toute entreprise! (Luqman [31] : 17)

Ô mon fils, accomplis la prière de la manière la plus complète, commande ce qui est convenable, défends ce qui est blâmable et endure patiemment ce que tu subis lorsque tu suis cette voie. Ce qui t’es enjoint t’a été dicté par Allah. Tu n’as donc pas le choix de t’y conformer ou non.
