وَاِذَا تُتْلٰى عَلَيْهِ اٰيٰتُنَا وَلّٰى مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَاَنَّ فِيْٓ اُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًاۚ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ ( لقمان: ٧ )
wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when
Et quand
tut'lā
تُتْلَىٰ
are recited
sont récités
ʿalayhi
عَلَيْهِ
to him
à Lui
āyātunā
ءَايَٰتُنَا
Our Verses
Nos Versets,
wallā
وَلَّىٰ
he turns away
il se détourne
mus'takbiran
مُسْتَكْبِرًا
arrogantly
(en étant) orgueilleux
ka-an
كَأَن
as if
comme si
lam
لَّمْ
not
ne pas
yasmaʿhā
يَسْمَعْهَا
he (had) heard them
il les entendait,
ka-anna
كَأَنَّ
as if
comme s’(il y avait)
fī
فِىٓ
in
dans
udhunayhi
أُذُنَيْهِ
his ears
ses deux oreilles
waqran
وَقْرًاۖ
(is) deafness
une lourdeur.
fabashir'hu
فَبَشِّرْهُ
So give him tidings
Annonce-lui donc bonne nouvelle
biʿadhābin
بِعَذَابٍ
of a punishment
d’un châtiment
alīmin
أَلِيمٍ
painful
douloureux !
Wa izaa tutlaa 'alayhi Aayaatunaa wallaa mustakbiran ka al lam yasma'haa ka anna feee uzunwihi waqran fabash shiru bi'azaabin aleem (Luq̈mān 31:7)
English Sahih:
And when Our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment. (Luqman [31] : 7)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
Et quand on lui récite Nos versets, il tourne le dos avec orgueil, comme s'il ne les avait point entendus, comme s'il y avait un poids dans ses oreilles. Fais-lui donc l'annonce d'un châtiment douloureux. (Luqman [31] : 7)
