لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيْهِۗ وَمَنْ يُّعْرِضْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهٖ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًاۙ ( الجن: ١٧ )
linaftinahum
لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ
That We might test them
afin de les mettre en grande épreuve
fīhi
فِيهِۚ
therein
à propos (de) lui.
waman
وَمَن
And whoever
Et quiconque
yuʿ'riḍ
يُعْرِضْ
turns away
se détourne
ʿan
عَن
from
du
dhik'ri
ذِكْرِ
the Remembrance
rappel
rabbihi
رَبِّهِۦ
(of) his Lord
(de) son Maître,
yasluk'hu
يَسْلُكْهُ
He will make him enter
Il le fera pénétrer
ʿadhāban
عَذَابًا
a punishment
(dans) un châtiment
ṣaʿadan
صَعَدًا
severe
bouleversant.
Linaftinahum feeh; wa many yu'rid 'an zikri rabbihee yasluk hu 'azaaban sa'adaa (al-Jinn 72:17)
English Sahih:
So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. (Al-Jinn [72] : 17)
Muhammad Hamidullah:
afin de les y éprouver. Et quiconque se détourne du rappel de son Seigneur, Il l'achemine vers un châtiment sans cesse croissant. (Al-Jinn [72] : 17)

Ceci, afin de les éprouver: seront-ils reconnaissants pour le bienfait d’Allah ou le renieront-Il? Quiconque se détourne de ce Coran et des exhortations qu’il contient, son Seigneur lui infligera un châtiment pénible qu’il ne pourra supporter.
