وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِيْ حَرَّمَ اللّٰهُ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّۗ وَمَنْ قُتِلَ مَظْلُوْمًا فَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا لِوَلِيِّهٖ سُلْطٰنًا فَلَا يُسْرِفْ فِّى الْقَتْلِۗ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ مَنْصُوْرًا ( الإسراء: ٣٣ )
Wala taqtuloo alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahu illa bialhaqqi waman qutila mathlooman faqad ja'alna liwaliyyihi sultanan fala yusrif fee alqatli innahu kana mansooran (al-ʾIsrāʾ 17:33)

किसी जीव की हत्या न करो, जिसे (मारना) अल्लाह ने हराम ठहराया है। यह और बात है कि हक़ (न्याय) का तक़ाज़ा यही हो। और जिसकी अन्यायपूर्वक हत्या की गई हो, उसके उत्तराधिकारी को हमने अधिकार दिया है (कि वह हत्यारे से बदला ले सकता है), किन्तु वह हत्या के विषय में सीमा का उल्लंघन न करे। निश्चय ही उसकी सहायता की जाएगी
English Sahih:
And do not kill the soul [i.e., person] which Allah has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly – We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in [the matter of] taking life. Indeed, he has been supported [by the law]. ([17] Al-Isra : 33)
