وَلَقَدْ اَخَذْنٰهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوْا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُوْنَ ( المؤمنون: ٧٦ )
And verily
وَلَقَدْ
और अलबत्ता तहक़ीक़
We seized them
أَخَذْنَٰهُم
पकड़ लिया हमने उन्हें
with the punishment
بِٱلْعَذَابِ
साथ अज़ाब के
but not
فَمَا
पस ना
they submit
ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟
उन्होंने आजिज़ी की
to their Lord
لِرَبِّهِمْ
अपने रब के लिए
and not
وَمَا
और ना
they supplicate humbly
يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
वो गिड़गिड़ाए
Walaqad akhathnahum bial'athabi fama istakanoo lirabbihim wama yatadarra'oona (al-Muʾminūn 23:76)

यद्यपि हमने उन्हें यातना में पकड़ा, फिर भी वे अपने रब के आगे न तो झुके और न वे गिड़गिड़ाते ही थे
English Sahih:
And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] ([23] Al-Mu'minun : 76)
