قَالُوْا تَقَاسَمُوْا بِاللّٰهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهٗ وَاَهْلَهٗ ثُمَّ لَنَقُوْلَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهٖ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ اَهْلِهٖ وَاِنَّا لَصٰدِقُوْنَ ( النمل: ٤٩ )
They said
قَالُوا۟
उन्होंने कहा
"Swear to each other
تَقَاسَمُوا۟
आपस में क़सम खाओ
by Allah
بِٱللَّهِ
अल्लाह की
surely we will attack him by night
لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ
अलबत्ता हम ज़रूर रात को हमला करेंगे उस पर
and his family
وَأَهْلَهُۥ
और उसके घर वालों पर
Then
ثُمَّ
फिर
we will surely say
لَنَقُولَنَّ
अलबत्ता हम ज़रूर कहेंगे
to his heir
لِوَلِيِّهِۦ
उसके सरपरस्त से
"Not
مَا
नहीं
we witnessed
شَهِدْنَا
मौजूद थे हम
(the) destruction
مَهْلِكَ
हलाकत के वक़्त
(of) his family
أَهْلِهِۦ
उसके ख़ानदान की
and indeed we
وَإِنَّا
और बेशक हम
(are) surely truthful'"
لَصَٰدِقُونَ
अलबत्ता सच्चे हैं
Qaloo taqasamoo biAllahi lanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi ma shahidna mahlika ahlihi wainna lasadiqoona (an-Naml 27:49)
Muhammad Faruq Khan Sultanpuri & Muhammad Ahmed:
वे आपस में अल्लाह की क़समें खाकर बोले, 'हम अवश्य उसपर और उसके घरवालों पर रात को छापा मारेंगे। फिर उसके वली (परिजन) से कह देंगे कि हम उसके घरवालों के विनाश के अवसर पर मौजूद न थे। और हम बिलकुल सच्चे है।'
English Sahih:
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allah that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'" ([27] An-Naml : 49)
