اَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنَ الْقُرُوْنِ يَمْشُوْنَ فِيْ مَسٰكِنِهِمْ ۗاِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍۗ اَفَلَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ ( السجدة: ٢٦ )
Does it not
أَوَلَمْ
क्या भला नहीं
guide
يَهْدِ
रहनुमाई की
[for] them
لَهُمْ
उनकी कि
(that) how many
كَمْ
कितनी ही
We have destroyed
أَهْلَكْنَا
हलाक कीं हमने
before them
مِن
उनसे पहले
before them
قَبْلِهِم
उनसे पहले
of
مِّنَ
उम्मतें
the generations
ٱلْقُرُونِ
उम्मतें
they walk about
يَمْشُونَ
वो चलते फिरते हैं
in
فِى
उनके घरों में
their dwellings
مَسَٰكِنِهِمْۚ
उनके घरों में
Indeed
إِنَّ
बेशक
in
فِى
इसमें
that
ذَٰلِكَ
इसमें
surely, are Signs
لَءَايَٰتٍۖ
अलबत्ता निशानियाँ हैं
Then do not
أَفَلَا
क्या भला नहीं
they hear?
يَسْمَعُونَ
वो सुनते हैं
Awalam yahdi lahum kam ahlakna min qablihim mina alqurooni yamshoona fee masakinihim inna fee thalika laayatin afala yasma'oona (as-Sajdah 32:26)

क्या उनके लिए यह चीज़ भी मार्गदर्शक सिद्ध नहीं हुई कि उनसे पहले कितनी ही नस्लों को हम विनष्ट कर चुके है, जिनके रहने-बसने की जगहों में वे चलते-फिरते है? निस्संदेह इसमें बहुत-सी निशानियाँ है। फिर क्या वे सुनने नहीं?
English Sahih:
Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear? ([32] As-Sajdah : 26)
