فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ قُرْبَانًا اٰلِهَةً ۗبَلْ ضَلُّوْا عَنْهُمْۚ وَذٰلِكَ اِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوْا يَفْتَرُوْنَ ( الأحقاف: ٢٨ )
Falawla nasarahumu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi qurbanan alihatan bal dalloo 'anhum wathalika ifkuhum wama kanoo yaftaroona (al-ʾAḥq̈āf 46:28)

फिर क्यों न उन बस्तियों ने उसकी सहायता की जिनको उन्होंने अपने और अल्लाह का बीच माध्यम ठहराकर सामीप्य प्राप्त करने के लिए उपास्य बना लिया था? बल्कि वे उनसे गुम हो गए, और यह था उनका मिथ्यारोपण और वह कुछ जो वे घड़ते थे
English Sahih:
Then why did those they took besides Allah as deities by which to approach [Him] not aid them? But they had strayed [i.e., departed] from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing. ([46] Al-Ahqaf : 28)
