وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلٰٓى اُمَمٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ فَاَخَذْنٰهُمْ بِالْبَأْسَاۤءِ وَالضَّرَّاۤءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُوْنَ ( الأنعام: ٤٢ )
And certainly
وَلَقَدْ
और अलबत्ता तहक़ीक़
We sent (Messengers)
أَرْسَلْنَآ
भेजा हमने
to
إِلَىٰٓ
तरफ़ उम्मतों के
nations
أُمَمٍ
तरफ़ उम्मतों के
from
مِّن
आप से क़ब्ल
before you
قَبْلِكَ
आप से क़ब्ल
then We seized them
فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم
पस पकड़ लिया हमने उन्हें
with adversity
بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ
साथ तंगी
and hardship
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
और तकलीफ़ के
so that they may
لَعَلَّهُمْ
शायद कि वो
humble themselves
يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
वो आजिज़ी करें
Walaqad arsalna ila omamin min qablika faakhathnahum bialbasai waalddarrai la'allahum yatadarra'oona (al-ʾAnʿām 6:42)

तुमसे पहले कितने ही समुदायों की ओर हमने रसूल भेजे कि उन्हें तंगियों और मुसीबतों में डाला, ताकि वे विनम्र हों
English Sahih:
And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]. ([6] Al-An'am : 42)
