وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلٰٓى اُمَمٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ فَاَخَذْنٰهُمْ بِالْبَأْسَاۤءِ وَالضَّرَّاۤءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُوْنَ ( الأنعام: ٤٢ )
And certainly
وَلَقَدْ
Und ganz gewiss
We sent (Messengers)
أَرْسَلْنَآ
sandten wir
to
إِلَىٰٓ
zu
nations
أُمَمٍ
Gemeinschaften
from
مِّن
von
before you
قَبْلِكَ
vor dir,
then We seized them
فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم
dann ließen wir ihnen zukommen
with adversity
بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ
Not
and hardship
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
und Leid,
so that they may
لَعَلَّهُمْ
auf daß sie
humble themselves
يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
unterwürfig flehen.
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā 'Ilaá 'Umamin Min Qablika Fa'akhadhnāhum Bil-Ba'sā'i Wa Ađ-Đarrā'i La`allahum Yatađarra`ūna. (al-ʾAnʿām 6:42)

Wir haben ja schon zu Gemeinschaften vor dir (Gesandte) gesandt und über sie Not und Leid kommen lassen, auf daß sie unterwürfig flehen mögen. ([6] al-Anam (Das Vieh) : 42)
English Sahih:
And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]. ([6] Al-An'am : 42)
