وَقَالُوْا كُوْنُوْا هُوْدًا اَوْ نَصٰرٰى تَهْتَدُوْا ۗ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ اِبْرٰهٖمَ حَنِيْفًا ۗوَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ ( البقرة: ١٣٥ )
waqālū
وَقَالُوا۟
And they said
അവര്‍ പറയുന്നു, പറയുകയും ചെയ്തു
kūnū
كُونُوا۟
"Be
നിങ്ങള്‍ ആകുവിന്‍
hūdan
هُودًا
Jews
ജൂതന്‍മാര്‍
aw naṣārā
أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ
or Christians
അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികള്‍
tahtadū
تَهْتَدُوا۟ۗ
(then) you will be guided"
(എന്നാല്‍) നിങ്ങള്‍ സന്‍മാര്‍ഗം പ്രാപിക്കും
qul
قُلْ
Say
നീ പറയുക
bal
بَلْ
"Nay
പക്ഷേ
millata ib'rāhīma
مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِۦمَ
(the) religion (of) Ibrahim
ഇബ്റാഹീമിന്റെ മാര്‍ഗം, മതം, നടപടി
ḥanīfan
حَنِيفًاۖ
(the) upright;
ഋജുമാനസനായിക്കൊണ്ട്, ശുദ്ധ ഹൃദയനായിക്കൊണ്ടുള്ള
wamā kāna
وَمَا كَانَ
and not he was
അദ്ദേഹം ആയിരുന്നിട്ടുമില്ല
mina l-mush'rikīna
مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
of those who associated partners (with Allah)"
മുശ്‌രിക്കുകളില്‍ പെട്ട(വന്‍)
Wa qaaloo koonoo Hoodan aw Nasaaraa tahtadoo; qul bal Millata Ibraaheema Haneefanw wa maa kaana minal mushrikeen (al-Baq̈arah 2:135)
English Sahih:
They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists." (Al-Baqarah [2] : 135)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: ''ജൂതരോ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളോ ആവുക. നിങ്ങള്‍ നേര്‍വഴിയിലാകും.'' പറയുക: ''അല്ല. ശുദ്ധ മാനസനായ ഇബ്റാഹീമിന്റെ മാര്‍ഗമാണ് സ്വീകരിക്കേണ്ടത്. അദ്ദേഹം ബഹുദൈവ വാദിയായിരുന്നില്ല.'' (അല്‍ബഖറ [2] : 135)
