مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِى اسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا ۚ فَلَمَّآ اَضَاۤءَتْ مَا حَوْلَهٗ ذَهَبَ اللّٰهُ بِنُوْرِهِمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِيْ ظُلُمٰتٍ لَّا يُبْصِرُوْنَ ( البقرة: ١٧ )

Their example
അവരുടെ ഉപമ
kamathali
كَمَثَلِ
(is) like (the) example
മാതിരിയാണ്
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(of) the one who
യാതൊരുവന്റെ
is'tawqada
ٱسْتَوْقَدَ
kindled
അവന് കത്തിച്ചുണ്ടാക്കി
nāran
نَارًا
a fire
ഒരു തീ
falammā aḍāat
فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتْ
then, when it lighted
എന്നിട്ടതു വെളിച്ചം നല്കിയപ്പോള്
mā ḥawlahu
مَا حَوْلَهُۥ
what his surroundings
അതിന്റെ ചുററുമുള്ളതിനെ, ചുറ്റുപാടിലുള്ളവരെ
dhahaba l-lahu
ذَهَبَ ٱللَّهُ
took away Allah
അല്ലാഹു പോയി
binūrihim
بِنُورِهِمْ
their light
അവരുടെ പ്രകാശവും കൊണ്ട്
watarakahum
وَتَرَكَهُمْ
and left them
അവരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുക (വിട്ടേക്കുക)യും ചെയ്തു
fī ẓulumātin
فِى ظُلُمَٰتٍ
in darkness[es]
അന്ധകാരങ്ങളില്
lā yub'ṣirūna
لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ
(so) not (do) they see
അവര് (കണ്ണു) കാണാതെ
Masaluhum kamasalillazis tawqada naaran falammaaa adaaa'at maa hawlahoo zahabal laahu binoorihim wa tarakahum fee zulumaatil laa yubsiroon (al-Baq̈arah 2:17)
English Sahih:
Their example is that of one who kindled a fire, but when it illuminated what was around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness [so] they could not see. (Al-Baqarah [2] : 17)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അവരുടെ ഉപമ ഇവ്വിധമാകുന്നു: ഒരാള് തീകൊളുത്തി. ചുറ്റും പ്രകാശം പരന്നപ്പോള് അല്ലാഹു അവരുടെ വെളിച്ചം അണച്ചു. എന്നിട്ടവരെ ഒന്നും കാണാത്തവരായി കൂരിരുളിലുപേക്ഷിച്ചു. (അല്ബഖറ [2] : 17)
