وَاِذْ اَخَذَ اللّٰهُ مِيْثَاقَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهٗ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُوْنَهٗۖ فَنَبَذُوْهُ وَرَاۤءَ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ وَاشْتَرَوْا بِهٖ ثَمَنًا قَلِيْلًا ۗ فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُوْنَ ( آل عمران: ١٨٧ )
Wa iz akhazal laahu meesaaqal lazeena ootul Kitaaba latubaiyinunnahoo linnaasi wa laa taktumoona hoo fanabazoohu waraaa'a zuhoorihim washtaraw bihee samanan qaleelan fabi'sa maa yashtaroon (ʾĀl ʿImrān 3:187)
English Sahih:
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear [i.e., explain it] to the people and not conceal it." But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased. (Ali 'Imran [3] : 187)

ഓര്ക്കുക: വേദം കിട്ടിയവരോട് നിങ്ങളത് ജനങ്ങള്ക്ക് വിവരിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുമെന്നും നിങ്ങളത് ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുവെക്കുകയില്ലെന്നും അല്ലാഹു ഉറപ്പു വാങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും അവരത് തങ്ങളുടെ പിറകിലേക്ക് വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞു. നിസ്സാരമായ വിലയ്ക്ക് അത് വില്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവര് പകരം വാങ്ങുന്നത് വളരെ ചീത്തതന്നെ. (ആലുഇംറാന് [3] : 187)

വേദഗ്രന്ഥം നല്കപ്പെട്ടവരോട് നിങ്ങളത് ജനങ്ങള്ക്ക് വിവരിച്ചുകൊടുക്കണമെന്നും, നിങ്ങളത് മറച്ച് വെക്കരുതെന്നും അല്ലാഹു കരാര് വാങ്ങിയ സന്ദര്ഭം (ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക) എന്നിട്ട് അവരത് (വേദഗ്രന്ഥം) പുറകോട്ട് വലിച്ചെറിയുകയും, തുച്ഛമായ വിലയ്ക്ക് അത് വിറ്റുകളയുകയുമാണ് ചെയ്തത്. അവര് പകരം വാങ്ങിയത് വളരെ ചീത്ത തന്നെ.
