اَنْ تَقُوْلَ نَفْسٌ يّٰحَسْرَتٰى عَلٰى مَا فَرَّطْتُّ فِيْ جَنْۢبِ اللّٰهِ وَاِنْ كُنْتُ لَمِنَ السَّاخِرِيْنَۙ ( الزمر: ٥٦ )
an taqūla
أَن تَقُولَ
Lest should say
പറഞ്ഞേക്കുന്നതിനാൽ (പറയാതിരിക്കുവാൻ)
nafsun
نَفْسٌ
a soul
വല്ല ആത്മാവും (ഓരോ ആളും, ദേഹം)
yāḥasratā
يَٰحَسْرَتَىٰ
"Oh! My regret
എന്റെ സങ്കടമേ (കഷ്ടമേ)
ʿalā mā farraṭtu
عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطتُ
over what I neglected
ഞാൻ വീഴ്ചവരുത്തിയതിൽ
fī janbi l-lahi
فِى جَنۢبِ ٱللَّهِ
in regard to Allah
അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ പക്ഷത്തു (കാര്യത്തിൽ)
wa-in kuntu
وَإِن كُنتُ
and that I was
നിശ്ചയമായും ഞാൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു
lamina l-sākhirīna
لَمِنَ ٱلسَّٰخِرِينَ
surely among the mockers"
കളിയാക്കുന്ന (പരിഹസിക്കുന്ന) വരിൽപെട്ട(വൻ)
An taqoola nafsuny yaahasrataa 'alaa maa farrattu fee jambil laahi wa in kuntu laminas saakhireen (az-Zumar 39:56)
English Sahih:
Lest a soul should say, "Oh, [how great is] my regret over what I neglected in regard to Allah and that I was among the mockers." (Az-Zumar [39] : 56)

ആരും ഇങ്ങനെ പറയാന് ഇടവരാതിരിക്കട്ടെ: ''എന്റെ നാശം, അല്ലാഹുവോടുള്ള ബാധ്യതാ നിര്വഹണത്തില് ഞാന് വല്ലാതെ വീഴ്ചവരുത്തിയല്ലോ. തീര്ച്ചയായും ഞാന് അതിനെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായിപ്പോയി. (അസ്സുമര് [39] : 56)
