مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ حُمِّلُوا التَّوْرٰىةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوْهَا كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ اَسْفَارًاۗ بِئْسَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ( الجمعة: ٥ )
Masalul lazeena hum milut tawraata summa lam yahmiloonhaa kamasalil himaari yah milu asfaaraa; bi'sa masalul qawmil lazeena kaazzaboo bi aayaatil laah; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmazzaalimeen (al-Jumuʿah 62:5)
English Sahih:
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (Al-Jumu'ah [62] : 5)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
തൗറാത്തിന്റെ വാഹകരാക്കുകയും എന്നിട്ടത് വഹിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തവരുടെ ഉപമയിതാ: ഗ്രന്ഥക്കെട്ടുകള്‍ പേറുന്ന കഴുതയെപ്പോലെയാണവര്‍. അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ സൂക്തങ്ങളെ നിഷേധിച്ചു തള്ളിയവരുടെ ഉപമ വളരെ നീചം തന്നെ. ഇത്തരം അക്രമികളായ ജനത്തെ അല്ലാഹു നേര്‍വഴിയിലാക്കുകയില്ല. (അല്‍ജുമുഅ [62] : 5)

തൗറാത്ത് സ്വീകരിക്കാന്‍ ചുമതല ഏല്‍പിക്കപ്പെടുകയും, എന്നിട്ട് അത് ഏറ്റെടുക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തവരുടെ (യഹൂദരുടെ) ഉദാഹരണം ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങള്‍ ചുമക്കുന്ന കഴുതയുടേത് പോലെയാകുന്നു.[1] അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങള്‍ നിഷേധിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞ ജനങ്ങളുടെ ഉപമ എത്രയോ ചീത്ത! അക്രമികളായ ജനങ്ങളെ അല്ലാഹു സന്മാര്‍ഗത്തിലാക്കുകയില്ല.
[1] വേദഗ്രന്ഥത്തിന്റെ വാഹകരാണെന്നതില്‍ അഭിമാനിക്കുകയും, വേദത്തിന്റെ ഉള്ളടക്കം ജീവിതത്തില്‍ പകര്‍ത്താതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും ഈ ഉപമ ബാധകമത്രെ.
