فَاَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهٗ بِمَآ اَخْلَفُوا اللّٰهَ مَا وَعَدُوْهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوْا يَكْذِبُوْنَ ( التوبة: ٧٧ )
Fa a'qabahum nifaaqan fee quloobihim ilaa Yawmi yalqaw nahoo bimaaa akhlaful laaha maa wa'adoohu wa bimaa kaanoo yakhziboon (at-Tawbah 9:77)
English Sahih:
So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him – because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie. (At-Tawbah [9] : 77)
Karakunnu/Elayavoor (കാരകുന്ന് & എളയാവൂര്):
അതേ തുടര്ന്ന് അല്ലാഹു അവരുടെ മനസ്സുകളില് കപടത കുടിയിരുത്തി. അവര് അവനെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്ന ദിനം വരെയും അതായിരിക്കും അവരുടെ അവസ്ഥ. അല്ലാഹുവോട് അവര് ചെയ്ത പ്രതിജ്ഞ ലംഘിച്ചതിനാലും അവര് കള്ളം പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നതിനാലുമാണിത്. (അത്തൗബ [9] : 77)

അവര് അവനെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്ന ദിവസം (ന്യായവിധിയുടെ ദിവസം) വരെ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളില് കാപട്യമുണ്ടായിരിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് അതിന്റെ അനന്തരഫലമായി അവന് അവര്ക്ക് നല്കിയത്. അല്ലാഹുവോട് അവര് ചെയ്ത വാഗ്ദാനം അവര് ലംഘിച്ചത് കൊണ്ടും, അവര് കള്ളം പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമാണത്.
