وَمَا نُرِيْهِمْ مِّنْ اٰيَةٍ اِلَّا هِيَ اَكْبَرُ مِنْ اُخْتِهَاۗ وَاَخَذْنٰهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ ( الزخرف: ٤٨ )
And not We showed them
وَمَا نُرِيهِم
அவர்களுக்கு நாம் காண்பிக்க மாட்டோம்
of a Sign
مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ
ஓர் அத்தாட்சியை
but
إِلَّا
தவிர
it
هِىَ
அது
(was) greater
أَكْبَرُ
பெரியதாக இருந்தே
than its sister
مِنْ أُخْتِهَاۖ
அதன் சகோதரியை விட
and We seized them
وَأَخَذْنَٰهُم
இன்னும் நாம் அவர்களைப் பிடித்தோம்
with the punishment
بِٱلْعَذَابِ
வேதனையால்
so that they may return
لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
அல்லது திரும்புவதற்காக
Wa maa nureehim min aayatin illaa hiya akbaru min ukhtihaa wa akhaznaahum bil'azaabi la'allahum yarji'oon (az-Zukhruf 43:48)
Abdul Hameed Baqavi:
நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் காண்பித்த ஒவ்வொரு அத்தாட்சியும், மற்றொன்றை விடப் பெரிதாகவே இருந்தது. பின்னும், அவர்கள் (பாவத்திலிருந்து) திரும்பி விடுவதற்காக (ஆரம்பத்தில் அழித்து விடாமல் இலேசான) வேதனையைக் கொண்டு (மட்டும்) அவர்களைப் பிடித்தோம்.
English Sahih:
And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith]. ([43] Az-Zukhruf : 48)
