اَوَلَمَّآ اَصَابَتْكُمْ مُّصِيْبَةٌ قَدْ اَصَبْتُمْ مِّثْلَيْهَاۙ قُلْتُمْ اَنّٰى هٰذَا ۗ قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اَنْفُسِكُمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ( آل عمران: ١٦٥ )
'Awalammā 'Aşābatkum Muşībatun Qad 'Aşabtum Mithlayhā Qultum 'Annaá Hādhā Qul Huwa Min `Indi 'Anfusikum 'Inna Allāha `Alaá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun. (ʾĀl ʿImrān 3:165)

Ist es nicht (so), daß, als euch ein Unglück traf, obwohl ihr (den Feind) mit einem zweimal so großen getroffen hattet, ihr sagtet; "Woher kommt das?" Sag; Es kommt von euch selbst. Gewiß, Allah hat zu allem die Macht. ([3] Al-i-IImran (Die Sippe Imrans) : 165)
English Sahih:
Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves [i.e., due to your sin]." Indeed, Allah is over all things competent. ([3] Ali 'Imran : 165)

War es nicht so, daß erst dann, als euch ein Unglück traf, nachdem ihr bereits das Zweifache gleicher Art (den Feinden) zugefügt habt, ihr gesagt habt; "Woher kommt das?" Sag; "Es wurde von euch selbst verschuldet." Gewiß, ALLAH ist über alles allmächtig.
