وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنّٰهُمْ فِيْمَآ اِنْ مَّكَّنّٰكُمْ فِيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَّاَبْصَارًا وَّاَفْـِٕدَةًۖ فَمَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَآ اَبْصَارُهُمْ وَلَآ اَفْـِٕدَتُهُمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ اِذْ كَانُوْا يَجْحَدُوْنَ بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ࣖ ( الأحقاف: ٢٦ )
Wa Laqad Makkannāhum Fīmā 'In Makkannākum Fīhi Wa Ja`alnā Lahum Sam`āan Wa 'Abşārāan Wa 'Af'idatan Famā 'Aghnaá `Anhum Sam`uhum Wa Lā 'Abşāruhum Wa Lā 'Af'idatuhum Min Shay'in 'Idh Kānū Yajĥadūna Bi'āyāti Allāhi Wa Ĥāqa Bihim Mā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūn. (al-ʾAḥq̈āf 46:26)
A. S. F. Bubenheim and N. Elyas:
Und Wir hatten ihnen ja eine feste Stellung verliehen darin, worin Wir euch keine feste Stellung verliehen haben. Und Wir hatten ihnen Gehör, Augenlicht und Herzen gegeben. Aber weder ihr Gehör, noch ihr Augenlicht, noch ihre Herzen nützten ihnen etwas, da sie Allahs Zeichen zu verleugnen pflegten, und es umschloß sie das, worüber sie sich lustig zu machen pflegten. ([46] al-Ahqaf : 26)
English Sahih:
And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule. ([46] Al-Ahqaf : 26)

Und gewiß, bereits festigten WIR sie, worin WIR euch nicht gefestigt haben, und WIR machten ihnen Gehör, Augen und Verstand. Doch weder ihr Gehör, noch ihre Augen, noch ihr Verstand nützten ihnen etwas, da sie ALLAHs Ayat verleugneten. Und sie umgab das, was sie zu verspotten pflegten.
