اَثُمَّ اِذَا مَا وَقَعَ اٰمَنْتُمْ بِهٖۗ اٰۤلْـٰٔنَ وَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ   ( يونس: ٥١ )

you (will) believe

بِهِۦٓۚ
in it?

ءَآلْـَٰٔنَ
Now?

وَقَدْ
And certainly
kuntum
كُنتُم
you were
bihi
بِهِۦ
seeking to hasten it
tastaʿjilūna
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
seeking to hasten it

Asumma izaa maa waqa'a aamantum bih; aaal'aana wa qad kuntum bihee tasta'jiloon (al-Yūnus 10:51)

Sahih International:

Then is it that when it has [actually] occurred you will believe in it? Now? And you were [once] for it impatient. (Yunus [10] : 51)

1 Mufti Taqi Usmani

Is it only when it befalls you that you will believe in it? (It will be said to you at that time, “Have you believed) now, while you used to demand (in mockery) that it should come sooner?”
