Yusuf Verse 96

But when the bearer of the good news arrived, he cast the shirt over Jacob’s face, so he regained his sight. Jacob then said ˹to his children˺, “Did I not tell you that I truly know from Allah what you do not know?”

Then when the bearer of the glad tidings came, he threw it over his face, and he immediately recovered his sight. He said, “Did I not tell you that I know from Allah what you do not know?”

But when the bearer of good tidings came to him, and laid it on his face, forthwith he saw once again. He said, 'Did I not tell you I know from God that you know not?'

Then, when the bearer of good news came and placed the shirt on to Jacob’s face, his eyesight returned and he said, ‘Did I not tell you that I have knowledge from God that you do not have?’

Then, when the bringer of the glad tidings came, he cast it upon his face and he became clear-sighted. He said: said I not unto you, verily I know from Allah that which ye know not.

Then when the bearer of the good news came, He cast (the shirt) over his face, and he forthwith regained clear sight. He said; "Did I not say to you, 'I know from Allah that which ye know not?'"

And when the bearer of good news came he threw Joseph's shirt over Jacob's face, whereupon he regained his sight, and said: "Did I not tell you that I know from Allah what you do not know?"

Then, as the harbinger of happy news arrived and put the garment over his face his eyesight was restored. He said: "Did I not tell you? I know from God what you do not know."

Then when the bearer of glad tidings came, he laid the shirt on his face, he therefore immediately regained his eyesight*; he said, “Was I not telling you? I know the great traits of Allah which you do not know!” (This was a miracle that took place by applying Prophet Yusuf’s shirt.)

When the bearer of good news arrived, he cast it on his face, and he regained his sight. He said, ‘Did I not tell you, ‘‘I know from Allah what you do not know?’’ ’

But when the bearer of the good tidings came (with Joseph’s shirt), Jacob laid it over his face and he regained his sight. (Soon the caravan of the brothers reached home.) Jacob said: "Did I not tell you that I know from God what you do not know?"

And when the bearer of the happy tidings came (to Jacob) he laid it (- the shirt) before him and he became enlightened (about the true state of affairs), he said, `Did I not tell you I know from Allâh what you do not know.´

So when that the announcer of good news came, he threw it (the shirt) on his face/front , so he returned seeing/understanding , he said: "Did I not say to you that I know from God what you do not know?"

Then when the bearer of glad tidings came, he laid the shirt on his face, he therefore immediately regained his eyesight*; he said, "Was I not telling you? I know the great traits of Allah which you do not know!" (This was a miracle that took place by applying Prophet Yusuf’s shirt.)

Those around him said, "By Allah! You are in your old meandering mind."

Then, when the bearer of the glad tidings arrived, he cast it (the shirt) over his face, and he became clear-sighted. He said: "Did I not say to you, 'I know from Allah that which you know not.

They said: By Allah! thou art surely in thy old error.

So when the bearer of good news came he cast it on his face, so forthwith he regained his sight. He said: Did I not say to you that I know from Allah what you do not know?

Then, when the bearer of glad tidings came, he laid it on his face and he became a seer once more. He said: Said I not unto you that I know from Allah that which ye know not?

When someone brought him the glad news, Joseph's shirt was placed on his face and his eye-sight was restored, he said, "Did I not tell you that I know about God that which you do not know?"

And when the bearer of glad tidings arrived, he laid Joseph's shirt over him, and he saw once again. He said: 'Did I not tell you that I know from Allah what you do not know'

Then, when the bearer of the good news arrived, he cast it (the shirt) over his face, and his vision returned. He said: "Did I not say to you, `I know from Allah that which you know not"'

But when the bearer of the good news arrived and cast the shirt on Jacob's face, his eyesight returned and he said, "Did I not tell you that I know from God what you do not know?"

Then, when the bearer of good news arrived, he laid it over his face, and he regained his sight. He said, “Did I not say to you that I know from God what you do not know?”

Then, when (fa-lamm an; an is extra) the bearer of good tidings, Judah, came, with the shirt -- he had [been the one who] brought the blood-stained shirt, and so now he wished to bring him joy, after he had [previously] brought him grief -- he laid it, he cast the shirt, on his face and he regained his sight. He said, `Did I not say to you, "Indeed I know from God what you do not know?" '

Yahudha brings Yusuf's Shirt and Good News

Allah tells;

فَلَمَّا أَن جَاء الْبَشِيرُ أَلْقَاهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَارْتَدَّ بَصِيرًا

Then, when the bearer of the good news arrived, he cast it (the shirt) over his face, and his vision returned.

Ibn Abbas and Ad-Dahhak said;
الْبَشِيرُ
(good news),

means information.

Mujahid and As-Suddi said that;

the bearer of good news was Yahudha, son of Yaqub.

As-Suddi added,

"He brought it (Yusuf's shirt) because it was he who brought Yusuf's shirt stained with the false blood. So he liked to erase that error with this good act, by bringing Yusuf's shirt and placing it on his father's face. His father's sight was restored to him."

Ya`qub said to his children,

قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ



He said;"Did I not say to you, `I know from Allah that which you know not'),

that I know that Allah will return Yusuf to me and that,
إِنِّي لَاَجِدُ رِيحَ يُوسُفَ لَوْلَا أَن تُفَنِّدُونِ
(I do indeed feel the smell of Yusuf, if only you think me not senile).
Yusuf's Brothers feel Sorry and Regretful

This is when Yusuf's brothers said to their father, with humble- ness,

قَالُواْ يَا أَبَانَا اسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا خَاطِيِينَ
